DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately, the event has been cancelled due to illness.For more than 200 years, opera houses have been frequently and variously featured in novels and novellas. The lecture introduces the opera house as a literary topos and then - on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Carl Maria von Weber's death - concentrates primarily on two novels in which performances of "Der Freischütz" are depicted with very different emphases: Wolfgang Schlüter's "Anmut und Gnade" (2007) and Uwe Tellkamp's Dresden novel "Der Turm.
