The poet Ludwig Tieck (1773 – 1853) lived in Dresden from 1819 to 1842, almost a quarter of a century. His private readings at the Altmarkt were legendary and attracted guests from all over Europe. From 1825, Tieck worked as a dramaturge at the Dresden court theater and had a decisive influence on theater life. To mark the 250th anniversary of the writer's birth, the Kügelgenhaus traces Tieck's multifaceted work in Dresden.
